Journey at a glance

Day Day 1 :: Arrival In Kathmandu, Transfer To Hotel — Our representative will you meet at the arrival gate with a signboard of Mandala Holidays. Then you will be escorted to your selected hotel. The rest of the day can be spent at leisure. In the evening our guide will hold a briefing for the tour. Overnight at Hotel. Day Day 2 :: Drive from Kathmandu to Koshi Tappu — Today, you will embark on a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve, situated in the eastern Terai region of Nepal. The journey takes approximately 8 to 9 hours and passes through lush hills, rural landscapes, and vibrant towns, offering glimpses of Nepal’s diverse geography. Upon arrival at Koshi Tappu, one of Nepal’s most significant birdwatching and wetland conservation areas, you will check into your hotel for an overnight stay in Koshi Tappu. Day Day 3 :: Koshi Tappu Exploration day — Today is dedicated to exploring the natural beauty and rich biodiversity of Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve. Begin your morning with a guided birdwatching tour. Koshi Tappu is renowned as a birdwatcher's paradise, home to over 500 species of birds, including migratory and endangered varieties. As you explore the grasslands, wetlands, and riverbanks, you may also encounter wild water buffalo (Arna), deer, and other wildlife. Later, enjoy a serene boat ride on the Koshi River, which offers a chance to observe aquatic birds and perhaps even spot Gangetic dolphins. In the afternoon, visit local Tharu villages to learn about the indigenous culture and traditional lifestyle. Day Day 4 :: Drive from Koshi Tappu to Bhedetar — After breakfast, begin your scenic drive from Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve to Bhedetar, a tranquil hill station nestled in the eastern hills of Nepal. The journey takes approximately 4–5 hours, passing through lush forests, vibrant local villages, and terraced farmlands. As you ascend toward Bhedetar, enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and on clear days, glimpses of the distant Himalayas. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and relax in the cool mountain air. In the evening, you can stroll around the peaceful surroundings or visit the popular Charles Point View Tower for a stunning sunset view. Day Day 5 :: Drive from Bhedetar to Illam — After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive from Bhedetar to Illam, one of Nepal’s most picturesque hill towns, known for its lush tea gardens and rolling green hills. The journey takes approximately 5–6 hours and winds through charming rural landscapes, terraced farms, and dense forests. Along the way, enjoy the refreshing mountain air and serene countryside views. Upon reaching Illam, check into your hotel and spend the rest of the day exploring the peaceful surroundings or sipping on a fresh cup of locally grown tea. Day Day 6 :: Illam Exploration day — Today you will spend the day exploring the serene beauty of Illam, Nepal’s tea capital nestled in the eastern hills. Begin with a visit Antu Danda for a breathtaking sunrise over the eastern Himalayas, including views of Mt. Kanchenjunga on a clear day. Then you will visit lush tea gardens, where you can learn about the tea-making process and enjoy panoramic views of the rolling hills blanketed in green. Explore local attractions like Mai Pokhari, a sacred wetland surrounded by a beautiful forest, and take a walk through charming villages to experience the culture and lifestyle of the local Limbu and Rai communities. The peaceful ambiance and natural beauty of Illam make it a perfect retreat for nature lovers and cultural enthusiasts alike. Day Day 07:: Drive from Illam to Gaighat — Today, embark on a scenic drive from Illam to Gaighat, transitioning from the cool, misty hills of eastern Nepal to the warmer lowlands of the Terai. The journey offers diverse landscapes, passing through tea-covered hills, winding mountain roads, and fertile plains. Along the way, enjoy glimpses of rural life, terraced farms, and small roadside settlements. Day Day 08:: Drive from Gaighat to Kathmandu — Today, you will drive from Gaighat back to Kathmandu, a journey that takes approximately 8–9 hours depending on road conditions. The drive takes you through the diverse terrain of the Terai plains, mid-hills, and river valleys, offering scenic views and a glimpse into the daily lives of people in rural Nepal. As you ascend toward the Kathmandu Valley, you will notice a gradual change in climate and landscape. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, check-in at your hotel and enjoy a well-deserved rest. Day Day 09:: Final Departure from Kathmandu — It's your last day in Nepal! Grab some breakfast, and then take in some last-minute shopping in Kathmandu. We'll make sure you arrive at Kathmandu International Airport with plenty of time before your flight home. At this time, we'll say our goodbyes and bid you farewell, armed with warm memories and gorgeous photos to show your loved ones.
