Kaligandaki River is one of the most popular rivers for rafting in Nepal. Its mild flow and easily accessible features makes it the best river for all groups of rafters. Named after Goddess Kali, the River is fed by the Himalayas and drains much of the western Nepal. The river is graded on 1-3 scale and features many interesting holes, rapids and big breaks. The River offer both short and medium trips ranging from one day to multiple day trips. The longest stretch one can raft down in this river is 60 km. The put in point for the rafting is Nayapul in Baglung district, which is very near to Kathmandu. One can easily raft down the river to reach Pokhara. The most appropriate season for white water river rafting in Kaligandaki is Autumn (September to December) and Spring (March to May). During this season the volume of water is mildly moderate and the surrounding hills burst with green leaves and wildlife. In fact Kali Gandaki rafting offers many attractions for nature lovers.
