Discover the journey
The Karnali River, Nepal's longest and largest, holds sway over the Far West region, draining its expanse along with its tributaries. As it winds through imposing canyons, the river unleashes its wild rapids, reaching a crescendo in the lower canyons. While comparable in volume to the Sun Kosi, the Karnali's character is defined by its canyon walls, which amplify the intensity and continuity of its rapids. Navigating the Karnali is a thrilling endeavor, especially at low flows when the river's constraints heighten the challenge. With its highest extreme discharge recorded at an astonishing 21,700 cubic feet per second at Chisapani, the Karnali demands respect and expertise. Before embarking on the Karnali River Rafting expedition, the journey to its starting point offers scenic delights, setting the stage for the adventure ahead. This river promises one of Nepal's premier big volume rafting and kayaking experiences, making it an ideal complement to other adventures like trekking, peak climbing, or jungle safaris.
