“Shey Phoksundo Lake” is an alpine fresh water deposited lake in “Shey Phoksundo National Park”, located at an elevation of 3,612m above sea level in the Dolpa District. This lake is also listed on Ramsar zone for the purpose of wet land conservation and to support biodiversity and ecosystem. There are more than 20 stupas in the southern belt, and one gompa (monastery) in the eastern side of the lake, where annual prayers and worship are carried out. Traditional Tibetan Culture prevails in upper Dolpo; Buddhism and Bon are prevalent in lower Dolpo, including Ringmo village. Phoksundo Lake is regarded as sacred by Buddhists and followers of Bonpo religion, who believe that the lake contains an underwater palace and a tantric mandala of spirits.

Day Day 01 –: Arrival In Nepal — Welcome to Nepal! On arrival at Tribhuwan Int’l Airport, our representative will meet you at the airport and escort you to your hotel and help you check in. You’ll have rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at the hotel Meals included: N/A Day Day 02:: Fly From Kathmandu To Nepalgunj. — Fly to Nepalgunj (150m). Sightseeing Nepaljung city: Bageshwari Temple and Lord Shiva temple, the only temple that depicts Lord Shiva with a mustache. You can also visit bordering Indian town of Rupadiya by taking ‘Tanga’ i.e horse drawn carriage. Overnight at the hotel Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Day Day 03:: Flight To Juphal And 3-4 Hoursf Hike To Dunai — Around 1 hour of Domestic flight from Nepaljung take us to Juphal Airport (2499m) of Dolpa district early in the morning. After breakfast, we start our trek towards Dunai (2000m). Dunai is the district headquarter of Dolpa District in Nepal. The town is on the banks of the Thuli Bheri River. The trail ascends southeast, high above Thulo Bheri Valley, then winds through maize fields to the village of Kalagaunda. We follow the southern bank of the Bheri River and pass Roop Ghar. Overnight at teahouse Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Day Day 04:: 6-7 Hours Of Trek To Chhepka Village — After breakfast at lodge, we descend through the streets of Dunai and cross the bridge over the Bheri River. Follow the northern bank of the river to Sulighat before heading north to Shey Phoksundo National Park check-post. The rock-strewn trail climbs above the serpentine Suli Ghad River through the series of tropical forest, where we get to see glimpses of Tibetan culture. Savor the views of fluttering prayer flags, cascading waterfalls, and lush vegetation on the way to Shyanta village located at an elevation of 2520m. Another hour-and-a-half walk uphill along the narrow trail brings you to the village of Chhepka at 2670m. Overnight at Teahouse Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Day Day 05:: 5-6 Hours Of Trek To Jharana (Waterfall) — This day we begin our trek Jharana. The trail climbs through a cedar forest to a winter settlement used by the people of Ringmo village. The route then ascends steadily through open country and our stopping point for the night, Jharana where we rewarded with a close-up view of the glorious 1,083ft Jharana (waterfall); one of the highest Waterfall in Nepal and a faraway view of Phoksundo Lake. Overnight at Teahouse Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Day Day 06:: 5-6 Hours Trek To Ringmo Village — As we make our way to the Tibetan village of Ringmo (3460m), we trek through forests to the upstream of the Phoksundo River. Cross a bridge and follow the trail north to the ranger station at Phoksundo Lake. After a final push through the Phoksundo River gully, we emerge onto the yak-filled meadows of Ringmo, a Tibetan Bon village, where we stay the night. Overnight at Teahouse Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Day Day 07:: Explore Sacred Phoksundo Lake and Tshowa Gompa — Today you will explore the area around the magnificent Phoksundo Lake. Explore Ringmo village before heading to Tshowa Gompa, a 900-year-old Bon monastery on a ridge above the lake. Descend along the steep-sided cliffs to the lake. Phoksundo Lake is regarded as sacred by Buddhists and followers of Bonpo religion, who believe that the lake contains an underwater palace and a tantric mandala of spirits. The lake is famous for its striking turquoise color and spectacular scenery. Many beautiful glaciers can be found near and above the lake area. Overnight at Teahouse Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Day Day 08:: 6-7 Hours Of Trek Back To Chhepka Vilage — Today we trek back to Chhepka. Head towards Sulighad, following a stream originating from the lake. We pass through the village of Renje, Fir and Larch forests along the Sulighat river before reaching Chhepka. Overnight at Teahouse Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Day Day 09:: 6-7 Hours Of Trek To Juphal — After breakfast, retrace the trail to Juphal through beautiful forests, fields, and villages. Overnight at Teahouse Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Day Day 10:: Fly Back To Kathmandu — Leaving behind Jhupal, we fly back to Nepalgunj taking an early morning flight, as flights are not possible in the afternoon due to the strong winds. After reaching Nepalgunj, we catch another flight back to Kathmandu, relishing the scenic views throughout the flight. We transfer you to the hotel in Kathmandu for the overnight stay. Overnight at the Hotel Meals included: Breakfast Day Day 11:: Departure from Nepal — Transfer to International Airport for your return journey. Meals included: Breakfast

Day 10: Fly Back To Kathmandu — Leaving behind Jhupal, we fly back to Nepalgunj taking an early morning flight, as flights are not possible in the afternoon due to the strong winds. After reaching Nepalgunj, we catch another flight back to Kathmandu, relishing the scenic views throughout the flight. We transfer you to the hotel in Kathmandu for the overnight stay.
